Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new compound useful for improving water repellency, etc., of compounds, hopeful as an intermediate raw material for carbon functional silanes by introducing trifluoromethyl to various compounds. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R is H or methyl; (n) is 0 or 1) such as the compound of formula II. This compound is obtained by reacting a fluorine-containing unsaturated alcohol of formula III with (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a dehydrating agent (preferably fuming sulfuric acid) preferably at -5 to 10 deg.C for 0-30 minutes. For example, 1,1,1-trifluoro-2- trifluoromethyl-3-buten-2-ol may be cited as the compound of formula III and is obtained by reacting vinylmagnesium bromide with hexafluoroacetone in a solvent such as an anhydrous ether and hydrolyzing the reactional product.
