PURPOSE:To ensure simplified maintenance and check work and also protect a terminal body from rain or snow, etc., in an outdoor installation terminal of a communication system. CONSTITUTION:In a communication terminal comprising a terminal body 10 removably loading a plurality of printed wiring boards 12 in a shelf opening at the upper end, a cylindrical base cabinet 21 with the upper end opened and having the bottom part for outdoor installation in order to accommodate the terminal body 10 and a cylindrical cover 22 with the upper end opened and having the bottom part for removable loading to the base cabinet 21, the communication terminal is fixed vertically opposed to the periphery of the base cabinet 21. Moreover, a pair of slide plates 30 projected upward in the predetermined height, a guide 31 which is fixed to the cover 22 corresponding to the slide plates 30 to be slidably engaged with respective slide plates 30 and an engaging means 100 for holding the cover 22 at the lifted position under the condition that the cover 22 is lifted to realize engagement between the slide plates 30 and guide 31 are also comprised.
