Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make the magnetic disk storage device compact and improve the performance of rewriting. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic disk file system with a cache, a magnetic disk file 3 is provided with a temporary storage (temporary memory) area 4; and data are recorded in the temporary memory 4 simultaneously with a cache memory 22 when recorded and the data in the cache memory 22 are used for rewriting to the magnetic disk memory 3, but the data in the temporary memory 4 are used in emergency such as a power failure. Further, a dedicated head is provided for the temporary memory area 4.
