PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in contrast by a temp. rise by forming the front surface glass and rear surface glass of a flat type glass container for sealing a liquid refrigerant to a circular shape. CONSTITUTION:The container is formed circular glass panels 15a, 15b, spacer glass 16 and a chip tube 17 by sealing with frit glasses. After the air in the chip tube 17 of the container is discharged by a vacuum pump, the liquid refrigerant 19 of the volume at which the effective display part 19 of the liquid crystal panel is sufficiently covered is injected into the container and the chip tube 17 is chipped off in this state to completely hermetically seal the container. The glass container is thus constituted. The glass container and the liquid crystal panel 11 are stuck to each other by a transparent adhesive having the refractive index approximate to the refractive index of the glass and are subjected to optical coupling, by which the reflected light is decreased and the heat conductive property between the liquid crystal panel 11 and the glass container is improved. Since the circular glass is used, the distortion by a temp. difference is hardly generated and the influence to be exerted on images is substantially eliminated.
