PILE HEAD CONNECTING METHOD USING CAGE REINFORCEMENT

PURPOSE:To obviate difficult work such as field welding in addition to enlarging bearing force as a cage reinforcement. CONSTITUTION:A pile head connecting cage reinforcement is previously manufactured in such a way that deformed bars 1 to be the main reinforcement of the cage reinforcement are brought into contact with the inner surface of the steel pipe 2 of a steel pipe concrete pile 2. The cage reinforcement is inserted down to the specified depth in the steel pipe 2 while bringing the deformed bars 1 into contact with the inner surface of the steel pipe 2. Concrete 4 is then placed into the steel pipe 2 to fix the cage reinforcement rigidly to the steel pipe concrete pile. With the use of a steel pipe with ribs 3 fitted to its inner surface as the steel pipe 2, bonding between the cage reinforcement and steel pipe concrete pile can be further strengthened. The diameter of the cage reinforcement can be thereby enlarged and also the number of the bars 1 can be increased so as to obtain larger bearing force as the pile head connecting reinforcement arrangement. Also, since the connection to the steel body is made by the adhesion of concrete instead of welding, cage reinforcement fitting work to the pile head can be made extremely easy.
