Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To facilitate and ensure the arious setting of a facsimile equipment or the like. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape recording and reproducing device 17 for an automatic answering telephone function is used to reproduce an operation guide voice signal and a setting item identification code modulation signal for each setting item recorded on a magnetic tape 21 to guide the voice to the user, and a MODEM 12 is used to detect the setting item identification code and a setting control section 19 recognizes the setting item and the setting information according to input information from the operation section 16 is set to a memory 15 relating to the setting item. Thus, the cost to facilitate the setting is minimized.
