Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a hydrogen analyzing method which adopts a vacuum-system extractive quantitative method and by which only the hydrogen contained in a metallic material can be accurately determined through simple operation by removing hydrogen which adheres to the internal surface of a device and causes an error. CONSTITUTION:When the analyzing method by which the amount of hydrogen extracted from an analysis sample is determined by heating and fusing the sample in a vacuum system and leading the hydrogen to an analyzer is used, a magnesium piece is put in the heating and extracting tube of the vacuum system together with the sample piece of a metallic material. A hydrogen containing component adhering to the internal surface of the tube is made to react to magnesium vapor deposited on the internal surface of the tube when the magnesium piece is selectively heated in advance and the resulted product of the reaction is discharged. Then the amount of hydrogen contained in the sample is extracted and determined by heating and fusing the sample piece of the metallic material.
