Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To automatically control the tilted position of works and to dispense with supervision by a skilled operator by making the output difference between a vertical direction sensor and a tilt sensor into the tilt quantity of joints to be welded and regulating elevating and lowering means so as to regulate the tilt quantity within the specified range. CONSTITUTION:The vertical direction sensor 14 and the tilt sensor 16 are set on specified positioning by a right and left direction sensor 15 and the distance to the surface of materials to be welded is detected with accuracy of 0.01mm by the vertical direction sensor 14 and the tilt sensor 16. As shown by the formula 1, the detected distance difference between the vertical direction sensor 14 and the tilt sensor 16 is divided by 100mm and made into the tilt quantity of a weld zone, an elevating and lowering means of a supporting carriage 6 is mainly operated so that the tilt quantity is regulated within the range of 7-10per mil and an elevating and lowering means of the other supporting carriage 7 is operated for the deficiency to control the welding position automatically. Accordingly, welding of a corner part can be always performed under a specified ascending tilt condition.
