Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To improve a defective start and vibration noises of valve systems due to the thrust phenomenon of valves and the unstable combustion state at the time of idling, set the valve systems on the right and left cylinder banks to the same layout, and improve the rigidity of a cylinder head cover and a cylinder block. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft pulley 58 is provided on only the first cam shaft 30-1 of two cam shafts to be driven by a timing belt 56, a driving gear 60 is arranged on the first cam shaft 30-1, and a driven gear 62 is arranged on the second cam shaft 30-2. A connecting shaft 64 connecting the driving gear 60 and the driven gear 62 and having bevel gears 80, 82 at both ends are provided so that the rotation of the first cam shaft 30-1 is transmitted to the second cam shaft 30-2 and the second cam shaft 30-2 is rotated in the opposite direction to the first cam shaft 30-1. The connecting shaft 64 is pivotally supported by the upper first connecting boss 66 formed integrally with a cylinder head cover 52 and the lower second connecting boss 68 formed integrally with a cylinder block 4. |
