COOLER FOR IRON SHELL AT UPPER PART OF CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of a cooling piping caused by thermal stress, to reduce the working cost and to facilitate the welding work. CONSTITUTION:The subject cooler is provided with an upper side header pipe 5, an lower side header pipe 6 and plural cooling pipings 7 extended to longitudinal direction between the upper and lower header pipes 5, 6. The upper side header pipe 5 is arranged so as to extend in the horizontal direction of the periphery of the iron shell 2 near the furnace opening part at the upper part of a converter 1. The lower side heater pipe 6 is arranged at the interval downward from the upper header pipe 5 so as to extend in the horizontal direction of the periphery of the iron shell 2 at the upper part of the converter 1. The cooling pipings 7 are communicated with both of the upper and the lower header pipes 5, 6.
