PURPOSE:To enable vibration generated in transfer to a constant speed section from an accelerating section to be transferred to a decelerating section after setting it at a specific quantity by a method wherein a stepping motor is driven in an accelerating and decelerating pattern made to vary a length of a constant speed section in the case of transfer to the constant speed section of a specific speed on the middle of the accelerating section to a highest drawing speed. CONSTITUTION:Stepping motors 10, 12 are taken as a driving source. A carriage 26 which is linked with the stepping motors 10, 12 driven in a driving pulse line consisting of an accelerating section from start to end of acceleration, a constant speed section from the end of acceleration to start of deceleration, and a decelerating section from the start of deceleration to stopping and to which a recording pen 27 is enabled to be equipped, is made transferrable on logical two axes crossing almost at right angles. A visual image is formed by vertical motion of the recording pen 27 while the carriage 26 is being scanned on a recording medium 29. Then the stepping motors 10, 12 are driven in an accelerating and decelerating pattern made to vary a length of the constant speed section in the case of transfer to the constant speed section of a specific speed on the middle of the accelerating section to a highest drawing speed.
