POSITION DETECTION SYSTEM FOR MOBILE BODY

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for analyzing an azimuth of a mobile body individually by each radio base station by reducing power consumption in the mobile body. CONSTITUTION:Call information including an ID number is sent from a radio base 8 to a mobile body 1. The call information is received by the mobile body 1 relating to the ID number included in the information and the mobile body 1 sends return information based on the call information after the lapse of a prescribed response time. A radio base 8 receives the return information sent from the mobile body 1, a difference between the absolute time when the call information is sent and the absolute time when the reply information is received is detected, and a difference between the former difference and a prescribed response time of the mobile body 1 is detected to calculate the distance between the radio base station 8 and the mobile body 1. The radio base station 8 detects a position of the mobile body 1 based on the result and the analysis result sent from other radio base stations 10, 11.
