SLEEVE CONTACT FOR CUTTING OPERATION AND TIGHTENING OPERATION

PURPOSE: To precisely manufacture a sleeve contact with narrow range of allowable error by forming a cutting and tightening contact groove and a tightening groove by cutting a sleeve shell. CONSTITUTION: A contact groove 2 on the left side, a tightening groove 3 on the right side, and a cut circular part 4 in the center are formed in a conductive metallic piece 1 in one punching process. The width W of the contact groove 2 is determined according to the diameter of a cable core to be handled. Because an elastic spring projection 8 is formed on each side of the tightening groove 3, a notched part 9 is punched. The metallic piece 1 comprises a sleeve body 12 of circular section and a part 13 which is detached from a sleeve shell 15 along the broken line 14 and extended in the radial direction on the inner side of the sleeve shell by the folding or bending. The groove 2 is positioned in a center part of the sleeve body 12, and forms the angle α from the longitudinal axis 17. The groove 2 is diagonally arranged so as to form the angle αto the axis of the cable core whose terminal is treated, and the cable core is expanded in the direction of the axis 17.
