Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To calculate turn-off characteristics of a GTO accurately by replacing a gate turn-off thyristor (GTO) with a simple circuit and by outputting switching operation of the GTO through a circuit operation. CONSTITUTION:A GTO is replaced with an anode-to-cathode simulation resistance, a gate-to-cathode simulation resistance, an off gate charge simulation capacitor and a gate-to-cathode (J3) junction breakdown strength simulation circuit and each thereof is connected to a main circuit and a gate circuit. A constant is provided to each part and input to a calculator. Network operation is carried out in accordance with electric potential of an off gate charge simulation capacitor and elapsed time while changing each simulation resistance and the result is output. Thereby, it is possible to acquire a turn-off waveform which is close to an actual operation of the GTO. Furthermore, the waveform can arbitrarily be changed by changing each constant and dispersion of the GTO can readily be simulated.
