Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide the method and device for retrieving documents easy to select keywords and requiring the short retrieval time. CONSTITUTION:The list of the name of the document and the content of the specified document are displayed on the screen of a display section with the special codes added to keywords in the document. (steps 6 and 10) A document name table associating the lists and keywords of the name of the document on the screen with the coordinates on the screen and a retrieval control table are prepared (steps 7 and 11) and referred to (steps 8 and 2). The document is specified on the screen (step 1). While checking the content of the document, the keyword is selected on the screen (step 1).
