METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING ICE BITING IN AUTOMATIC ICE MAKING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent block ices from biting by a method wherein the block ices are discharged through a transporting member and stored in a lower ice storing chamber and the transporting member is lowered again to a discharging position when the remained state of the block ices is detected at the transporting member. CONSTITUTION:Refrigerant is circulated and supplied to an evaporator 17 arranged in an ice making chamber 24, water within the ice making water tank 26 is dispersed and supplied to the inner surface of each of small rooms of ice making through a water dispersion pipe under the driving of a circulation pump, resulting in that the water is frozen and then block ices 11 are formed at each of the small rooms. Upon completion of ice making operation, the block ices are removed and slipped down through a water collecting plate 34 which can be inclined and they are received while it is raised on a transporting member 47 of a lifter device 20. The transporting member 47 is lowered and the block ices 11 are discharged into an ice storing chamber 13. At this time, when the remained state of the block ices on the transporting member 47 is detected by an ice biting sensing switch SW7, the transporting member 47 is lifted and then the member is lowered again to discharge the remained block ices.
