Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain an always stable separating performance by enabling a separating pad to be restored automatically to its former state even if it is deformed more or less by pulling jammed documents and so on, and preventing elongation or breakage without applying a large tensile force to the separating pad. CONSTITUTION:A base of a separating pad 4 is fixed to a part of the lower surface of a holder 5, and the tip part of the separating pad 4 is pressed down by means of projecting parts 56 and 57 on both ends of a recessed groove 54 which is formed in a pad push-pressing part of the holder 5 in parallel with a shaft of a feed roller 3 so as to have a depth equal to or deeper than a thickness of the separating pad 4, and a leaf spring 13 is pushed against a projection 55 arranged in parallel with the recessed groove 54 near to the tip of the back part of the push-pressing part.
