METHOD FOR POURING MOLTEN METAL INTO CASTING MOLD FROM TUNDISH AND STRUCTURE OF POURING NOZZLE

PURPOSE:To avoid the suction of air or sealing gas, etc., from joint part between an upper nozzle and the immersion nozzle by exchangeably providing an immersed nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of ring-shape refractory packings 8, 9 are inserted between the lower end of the upper nozzle 2 in a tundish 1 for continuous casting apparatus and the immersed nozzle 4 provided so as to be attachable to and detachable from the lower end of the upper nozzle, and a suction space 10 is formed with gap between the joint end surfaces of the nozzles 2, 4 and two pieces of the ring-shape refractory packings 8, 9. On the other hand, a suction hole 7 communicating the immersed nozzle 4 with the suction space 10 is provided and the pressure in the suction space 10 is controlled to the equal or negative pressure as the pressure in the nozzle at the time of pouring the molten metal.
