NOISE REMOVAL DEVICE FOR VIDEO SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To suppress deterioration in picture quality for the noise removal device and to obtain more noise removal effect than usual. CONSTITUTION:An input signal is divided into two signals of a high and a low band, correlation detecting circuits 107, 110 which perform vertical correlation detection are provided for each band and the correlation between video signals of the low band is detected by comb filters 103 and 104, an SW circuit 108, and the correlation detecting circuit 107. Then noncorrelative components between the video signals is extracted as noise components and the correlation between the noise components of the high band is detected by comb filters 105 and 106, an SW circuit 109, and the correlation detecting circuit 110. Thus, a subtracting circuit 112 subtracts the extracted noise components of the respective bands from the input signal to remove the noises.
