DISK DRIVING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To assure rigidity, to precisely hold the position of a disk and to obtain an electromagnetic shield while reducing the weight of the device and facilitating production by mounting a reinforcing plate consisting of a metallic material to a chassis consisting of a synthetic resin material. CONSTITUTION:The chassis 1 for reducing the weight and facilitating the production is formed of the synthetic resin material. A spindle motor 5 and a pickup device 12 are imposed and supported thereon. The reinforcing plate 49 consisting of a metallic material is mounted by means of set screws 50, 51 over a range where the operation to move the pickup device 12 is possible on the rear surface part of the chassis 1. Thus, the rigidity of the chassis 1 is improved and the relative positional relation of the pickup device and the disk-shaped recording medium is precisely maintained. In addition, the electrode noises in the peripheral part of the pickup device 12 is shut off.
