METHOD FOR INTENSIFYING GRAIN SIZE SEGREGATION OF COKE IN RADIAL DIRECTION OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To assure the air permeability in a blast furnace necessary for this furnace by intensifying the grain size segregation of the coke to be charged into the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:The coke 5 falling from a large bell 4 of the blast furnace 6 is received by a rattan blind-like bar-shaped screen 3 provided pendently freely oscillatably near the front surface nearer the in-furnace side than an armor plate 2. The coarse grains failing to pass the screen 3 are dropped to the in-furnace side and the fine grains passing the screen 3 are dropped onto the furnace wall 10 side. The in-furnace coke is made into the coarse grains in the central part of the furnace and to the fine grains in the peripheral part. The grain size segregation in the radial direction in the furnace is thus easily intensified.
