COUNTING AND DIVIDING DEVICE FOR PRINTED MATTER IN COUNTER STACKER

PURPOSE:To enable two times as many as a print fraction to be counted and divided, compared with the case of a conventional method, eliminate a manual counting and dividing work where a constant number of printed matter must be separated, and save manpower by repeating a fraction counting and dividing work for a plurality of times about printed matter less than the constant number, according to the constant number of print divisions. CONSTITUTION:The first dividing member 12 is provided at the predetermined distance from a counter head 10 laid on the first conveyor 4 to carry newspapers from a rotary press. The member 12 is caused to divide a train of sequentially carried newspapers on timing, based on pulse signals outputted according to the rotation of the drive shaft of the first conveyor 4. Also, the second dividing member 13 is provided at the immediate downstream side of the member 12, and the second conveyor 5 is laid, starting from the member 13. In addition, the first to third stacking devices 1 to 3 are connected in parallel to the downstream side of the conveyor 5. The stacking devices 1 to 3 are respectively constituted of feed conveyors 1a to 3a, and stacking means 7 to 9 laid downstream. Each of the members 12 and 13 is sequentially operated to perform a fraction counting and dividing work.
