Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a conjugated diene-based copolymer latex having high performance as a binder. CONSTITUTION:This production method is to produce a copolymer latex characterized as follows. (A) A dimer of a nuclearly substituted alpha-methylstyrene is used as (d) a chain transfer agent with (B) other chain transfer agents containing sulfur element in combination and potassium hydroxide is used after the polymerization in emulsion copolymerization of (a) a conjugated diene with (b) an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and (c) other monomers. Balance between blister resistance and stickiness of coated paper is improved in using the resultant latex as a binder for pigment-coated paper.
