DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INFORMATION RETRIEVAL

PURPOSE:To provide an information retriever and a retrieval method for information capable of performing the parallel processing of column retrieval processing and record retrieval processing and shortening retrieval processing time in device configuration in hardware fashion. CONSTITUTION:This retriever is the information retriever which selects a column retrieval condition and a record retrieval condition in a magnetic disk device, and it is comprised of a record buffet 1, a column retrieval condition buffet 2, a record retrieval condition buffer 3, column retrieval condition decision circuit 4, a column retrieval processing result buffer 5, and a record retrieval condition decision circuit 6. Thereby, the column retrieval of a record by the column retrieval condition decision circuit 4 and record retrieval different from the column retrieval by the record retrieval condition decision circuit 6 can be processed in parallel.
