BLANK MATERIAL FOR FLUTE

PURPOSE:To obtain the blank material for a flute having excellent mechanical characteristics and working characteristics, excellent gloss and high-grade feel without having flaws in appearance by constituting the material of 1 to 15% Pd, 1 to 15% Co and the balance Pt. CONSTITUTION:This blank material consists of 1 to 15% Pd, 1 to 15% Co and the balance Pt. Namely, the Pd is incorporated at 1 to 15% therein and, therefore, the mechanical characteristics and the plastic workability are improved. Since the Co is incorporated at 1 to 15% therein, castability (prevention of generation of pinholes) and the mechanical characteristics are improved. The machinability is improved and the easy polishing and lustering are assured by forming the blank material of the PtPdCo alloy. These characteristics are thus well exhibited in size, shape, appearance, function, etc., in working as the flute. The effect of improving the mechanical characteristics is low if the content of the Pd is below 1%. The corrosion resistance is poor if the content of the Pd exceeds 15%. The effect of improving the castability and mechanical characteristics is low if the content of the Co is below 1%. The workability is drastically degraded if the content of the Co exceeds 15%.
