Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a treating method of cooling water reducing the corrosion of equipment in a blast furnace caused by the steam generated at the time of cooling slag in a dry pit in the blast furnace by spraying the water. CONSTITUTION:The cooled drainage which has been used for spraying the slag in the dry pit 4 in the blast furnace 1 is charged into a thickener 17 of clean water for blast furnace gas and mixed with the acid thickener water and the alkali dry pit drainage. The overflow water of the thickener 17 is sprayed as the cooling water for slag in the dry pit. By this method, S concn. in the cooling water in the dry pit 4 is reduced, and as the corrosion of the equipment in the blast furnace is restrained, the service life of the equipment is lengthened. Further, as the thickener water is neutralized, the consumption of a neutralizer is reduced.
