Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide a device for purifying exhaust gas which effectively purify NOx in exhaust gas even in an oxygen-excess atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:In the device for purifying exhaust gas 1 which purifies exhaust gas 4 of oxygen-excess atmosphere, an oxidizing catalyst 2 is disposed in the upstream side of the flow of the exhaust gas 4, while a platinum-carrying alumina catalyst 3 prepared by alkoxide method is disposed in the down stream side. Thus, NOx in the exhaust gas 4 of oxygen-excess atmosphere is purified.
