PRODUCTION DEVICE FOR SUBCOOLED WATER

PURPOSE:To manufacture stably and continuously subcooled water having a temperature lower than the freezing point of water by providing an evaporator, in which the shape of a heat transfer tube and the conditions of operation are selected within specified ranges, and a pre-filter for cold water having specified filtration capacity. CONSTITUTION:A subcooled water production device is composed of an evaporator 7a, which consists of a plurality of parallel heat transfer tubes inserted into a refrigerating cycle system and in which a refrigerant liquid 8 from a condenser 3 is flowed on the external surfaces of the heat transfer tubes while cold water to be subcooled is flowed on the internal surfaces. The evaporator 7a, in which cold water is flowed through the heat transfer tubes 9a having an inside diameter of 4-10mm while having internal surface having roughness of 14mum or less as the heat transfer tubes 9a of the evaporator within a range of a cold-water inlet temperature of +0.1 deg.C or higher, a cold-water outlet temperature of -2.5 deg.C or higher and a Raynold's number Re=2000-8000 and a filter for cold water being mounted in front of the evaporator 7a and having filtration capacity of 90mum or less are provided. Accordingly, subcooled water at a temperature lower than the freezing point of water can be manufactured stably and continuously.
