Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the subject new compound exhibiting high affinity to serotonin 1A receptor, useful as an agent for treating schizophrenia and having low side effect. CONSTITUTION:The compound of formula I [R and R are 1-6C alkyl; X is S(O)mR (R is aralkyl or lower alkyl; (m) is 0-2) or SO2NR R (R and R are H or lower alkyl); A is 1-5C alkylene; Y is H, lower (halo)alkyl, halogen, etc.; (n) is 0-3], e.g. (S)-N-[(1-benzyl-2-pyrrolidinyl)methyl]-2,2-dimethyl-5-sulfamoyl-2,3 dihydrobenzofuran-7-carboxamide monohydrochloride. The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II with a 1-substituted- pyrrolidine-2-methylamine salt of formula III.
