Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To enable an ESD circuit which can be extracted from a MOS circuit to be included by a method, wherein a region which contains two pads and a conductive layer formed on an insulating region between the two pads are provided to constitute a breakable link which operates on a wettability principle. CONSTITUTION: A breakable link 15 is composed of a region, which includes two pads 11 and 12 and a conductive layer deposited on an insulating region between the pads 11 and 12. The pads 11 and 12 tends to become wetted with the deposited conductive layer, and on the other hand, the insulating region is hardly wetted with the deposited conductive layer. When the conductive layer is melted, the wetting actions of the pads 11 and 12 separate the melted conductive layer from the insulating region in cooperation with the non-wetting action of the insulating region. As a result, the molten conductive layer is attracted to the pads 11 and 12. The molten conductive layer is separated from the insulating region, so that an electrical connection between the pads 11 and 12 is broken off. By this setup, an electrostatic discharge(ESD) circuit 14, which can be extracted from a MOS circuit, can be included.
