COLD INSULATION STRUCTURE OF LOW TEMPERATURE LIQUID STORAGE TANK

PURPOSE:To facilitate installation of a membrane sheet to a curved surface by a method wherein the corrugations of the membrane sheet are arranged in a good order on the plane of a heat insulating flat panel disposed along the side wall of a storage tank and the membrane sheet is bent in a vertical direction along the heat insulating panel. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heat insulating panels 15 are fixed in an adjoining state to the side wall 13 of a cylindrical storage tank. A membrane sheet 16 having shrinkable corrugations 17 is stuck on the planes of the heat insulating panels 15 in a state that the corrugations 17 are orderly aligned. The membrane sheets 16 are welded together to form liquidtight and airtight structure. At a joint between the adjoining heat insulating flat panels 15, the membrane sheet 16 is bent and arranged along the adjoining heat insulation flat panels 15. This constitution arranges the membrane sheets 16 without exerting an unnecessary initial stress on a corrugation 17 part and provides an increased life. Further, an excellent thermal shrinkage function is ensured to cope with the side wall 13 having a high curvature.
