CONSTITUTION:The back coat layer of the magnetic recording medium constituted by having a magnetic layer on one surface of a nonmagnetic base and having the back coat layer composed essentially of nonmagnetic powder and a binder on the other surface contains a polyvinyl acetal resin which has >=55wt.% rate of acetalization and in which >=80wt.% of the accetalized part is polyvinyl acetal.
