METHOD FOR ELECTROPLATING ALUMINUM OR ALUMINUM ALLOY

PURPOSE:To electroplate aluminum or an aluminum alloy by using a fused salt bath. CONSTITUTION:A base metal is electroplated with aluminum or an aluminum alloy by using a fused salt bath. The sheet, rod, wire, block, grain, powder, etc., of aluminum are inserted or added and agitated to remove the oxygen, moisture and impurity metal ion. In this case, the aluminum material is ultrasonically vibrated directly or through the bath to efficiently promote the reaction. Consequently, the reaction product is removed by the vibration, the bath soln. is brought into contact with the fresh aluminum surface at all times, the minute amts. of the moisture, oxygen, impurity metal ion, etc., in the bath are effectively removed, and the bath is not deteriorated with age.
