VECTOR IMAGE DRAWING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To calculate an area rate at high speed without counting the number of divided and painted-out sub pixels by providing an approximate area rate calculating means to calculate the approximate area rate of edge part picture elements. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a CPU 202 to control the entire device according to various control programs and a font ROM 203 storing vector fonts or the like. A continuation information adding means generates vector data to form the outline of a graphic and continuation information showing continuity with the vector data and adds the data and the information to vector information. Next, based on the continuation information of the vector data, a pseudo vector generating means generates a pseudo vector from upper and lower scan lines with a scan line between and the information of intersections with the vector data. Continuously, the approximate area rate of the edge part picture elements is calculated by using the decimal part of an X coordinate value or a Y coordinate value at any one of two intersections formed when the pseudo vector passes through the edge part picture elements.
