Zusammenfassung:	1-Naphtholphthalein monophosphates are prepared by reacting naphtholphthaleins with phosphorus compounds in the presence of an organic base and, if desired, brominating them. The compounds are cleaved by alkaline phosphatases and are thus suitable as substrates for the determination of the activity of alkaline phosphatases. The 1-naphtholphthalein derivatives formed as cleavage products can be determined by photometry.
