MANHOLE COVER FOR OPTICAL COMMUNICATION WAY

PURPOSE:To easily conduct distributing and connecting works of optical fiber cables in a good condition, by constituting a manhole cover with an inner cover containing a distributing or connection box and an external cover covering the upper part. CONSTITUTION:The opening of a manhole 3 is covered with a double-structural cover 31 composed of a cylindrical inner cover 31a with the bottom having a flange 310 with the same diameter as the inner periphery of a circular support frame 32 formed at the upper end of the manhole 3 and an external cover disc 31b having the almost same diameter with that. A distributing or connecting box 4 is contained in the inner cover 31a to draw in branch lines 7, 7 and indoor lines 8, 8. At this time, a drum spirally winding up the branch lines 7 and indoor lines 8 on the peripheral face is provided coaxially with the inner cover 31a to secure extra-length necessary for distribution or connection of the branch lines 7 and the indoor lines 8. It is designed so that the distribution or connection box 4 in the inner cover 31a is taken outside from the manhole 3 after opening the external cover 31b and the distributing or connecting works of optical fiber cables can be carried out at a workable place.
