Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To increase the processing speed for CW CO2 laser during the machining operation by converging the laser beam. CONSTITUTION: A transmissive mirror 5 is provided which transmits a CO2 pulsed laser beam 7. The CO2 pulsed laser 6 is reflected on the lower face of the lightly specular-finished transmissive mirror, and converged on a workpiece 1 through a machining optical device 4. The CO2 pulsed laser beam 7 is designed to have a duration of 10 ns-100 μs, with the repeating frequency of the pulse set in the range of 100 Hz-1 KHz.
