Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium excellent in electromagnetic conversion property by measuring the dispersing state of a magnetic coating material with the dispersibility D, which is the new valuation index of dispersibility, and by using the magnetic coating material which has equal or above the specific value of the dispersibility D. CONSTITUTION:In the magnetic recording medium 1 having a magnetic layer 2 consisting mainly of a ferromagnetic metallic powder and a bonder on a non-magnetic supporting body 3, the magnetic layer 2 is made from the magnetic coating material having D>=0.66 in the index D expressing dispersibility by the rotational vibration method of the dispersibility valuation method. (Where, D is defined with d=Mi /Ms, Mi is magnetization at one minutes after external impressing magnetic field is applied to the magnetic coating material by the vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) and Ms is a saturated magnetization.)
