CHARACTER PATTERN GENERATION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable the device for outline form character pattern processing to directly handle character patterns in dot form. CONSTITUTION:An address circuit 7 is provided with a character pattern form converter 8 which converts a character code inputted together with a dot form character pattern into an internal code specifying a specific storage area in a character pattern memory 1, converts the input dot form character pattern into an outline form character pattern, and stores it in a storage area of the character pattern memory 1 specified with the internal code from an address circuit 7. Consequently, the character pattern generation device is obtained which eliminates the need for preprocessing, can process external character dot font patterns in print data, and has superior data compatibility.
