TREATMENT OF DUST IN CONVERTER TYPE SMELTING REDUCTION FURNACE

PURPOSE:To reduce heat energy loss and equipment constructing cost by directly injecting dust at high temp. generated from a converter type smelting reduction furnace into a blast furnace type smelting reduction furnace and refining. CONSTITUTION:The dust is collected at high temp. by a hot cyclone 17 from exhaust gas having 100g/m content of the dust of 50-100kg/t at about 1450 deg.C generated from the converter type smelting reduction furnace 1. The collected dust is injected into the furnace from an upper tuyere 15 in the vertical furnace 14 having the packing layer 16 of carbonaceous solid. Hot blast is blown from the tuyeres 15 and the smelting reduction is executed to the dust between the upper and the lower tuyeres and the dust is recovered as the metal 21 from the furnace bottom.
