Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide a red developing type thermal recording material imparting a recording image excellent in storage stability and reduced in the background fog of a blank part. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a recording layer containing a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a developer forming a color upon the contact with the dye is provided on a support, as the basic dye, 3-diethylaminobenzo [a] fluorane and 3-diethylamino-6,8-dimethylfluorane are added in a 1:1-3 ratio and, as the developer, 4-hydroxy-4'- isopropoxydiphenylsulfone is added.
