Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To take an appropriate action by detecting a failure in electrically discharging a piezoelectric element in a piezoelectric element driver which expands/contracts the piezoelectric element by electrically charging/discharging the piezoelectric element for using the piezoelectric element as an actuator. CONSTITUTION:A title driver is provided with a piezoelectric element drive circuit 1 which electrically charges a piezoelectric element 2 by a charging drive pulse and discharges said element by a discharging drive pulse and an overvoltage detection circuit 3 which compares the voltage of the piezoelectric element 2 with a reference voltage and generates an alarm signal by said voltage not less than the reference voltage.
