HIGH FREQUENCY HEATING COOKING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To accurately recognize presence or absence and shape of food based on a detected result by periodically varying an electric field of a cooking box and detecting a variation in the electric field. CONSTITUTION:A turntable 2 formed of a dielectric material for placing food is rotatably provided in a cooking box 1, a driving motor 4 for rotatably driving the turntable 2 is provided, and a magnetron 7 for supplying a microwave to the box 1 to heat to cook food is provided. In order to periodically vary an electric field in the box in synchronization with the rotating period of the turntable 2, the part of the turntable 2 is formed of a dielectric material having a different permittivity from that of the other part to provide an electric field varying part 9, an electric field sensor 8 for detecting the electric field in the box 1 is provided, and a controller for recognizing the presence or absence and shape of the food due to a variation in a detected value of the sensor 8 is provided.
