Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To facilitate the display of collateral service data and the recognition of a map image plane in a navigation device for displaying peripheral maps in turn in association with the movement of a moving body. CONSTITUTION:The present position is detected by a position detecting means 2. On the basis of this, a display control means 3 reads map data and collateral service data from a storage device 1. The collateral service data and the background pattern data in the area where the collateral service data is described/ displayed are outputted to a display means 4, and the display image of the collateral service data is displayed as superscription on the map image of the display means 4.
