SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain the solid-state image pickup element optimizing an exposure time without reading a stored charge. CONSTITUTION:An incident luminous quantity detector 16 provided in parallel with a signal charge detector 1 changes an incident ray into a charge and stores the charge, the charge quantity stored in the incident luminous quantity detector 16 is sensed by a storage charge detection transistor(TR) 17, a peripheral circuit 18 comprising a MOSFET 22 and a resistor 21 outputs a signal in response to the charge quantity of the detector storing the maximum charge in the incident luminous quantity detectors 16 to control an electronic shutter of the signal charge detector 1.
