FUEL CELL SUPPORT FRAME

PURPOSE:To embody the construction of a fuel cell support frame resistant against the internal temperature of an SOFC during the operation thereof by providing a beam section, and a column section having such height as corresponding to the height of the fuel cell and strength to support the weight of stacked fuel cells at each corner for connecting each beam section. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell support frame 26 is constituted with beam sections 27 for sealing the sides of fuel and air electrodes where no gas port is formed, and column sections 28 having such height as corresponding to fuel cell height and strength to support the weight of stacked fuel cells at each corner for connecting each beam section 27. SOFC 21 is built into the support frame 26. According to the aforesaid construction, the flat SOFC 21 can be a standalone structure as a stack. Also, the structure can be properly sealed. Furthermore, it becomes easy to fit fuel gas and air port benders for the application of module design. In addition, current can be collected at upper and lower levels, and other portions of the module can be insulated.
