Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition having excellent water-resistance, storable over a long period without generating gas and suitable as a high-grade metallic paint for automobile, etc., by coating a specific flaky metal powder with a phosphorus-containing organic compound and using the obtained metallic pigment as a component. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains a metallic pigment produced by coating 100 pts.wt. of a flaky metal powder having a thickness of 0.6-3mum and a diameter of 5-48mum with 0.5-200 pts.wt. (preferably 1-100 pts.wt.) of a phosphorus-containing organic compound [preferably the compound of formula ((l) is 0 or 1; (m) is l-4; R4 is m-valent aliphatic, alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon group; R5, R10 and R11 are H or l-24C hydrocarbon group; R6 to R9 are H, l-3C aliphatic hydrocarbon group or 6-7C aromatic hydrocarbon group), etc.].
