Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having performances equal to URUSHI (Japanese lacquer), useful as a substitute thereof and also coating compound, containing a specific biphenol derivative and a vegetable viscous substance in specific ratios, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition containing a biphenol derivative shown by the formula (R and R are H, methyl or acetyl; R and R are H, OH group, methoxy or acetoxy or R and R or R and R are bonded to form alkylene; R and R are aliphatic hydrocarbon containing at least one double bond; A and B are 0, methylene, methylmethine, carbonyl or oxycarbonyl) and 2-20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the derivative of a vegetable viscous substance. The viscous substance is preferably solubilized starch substance or pectin substance.
