SWIVEL CASTER

PURPOSE:To reduce the whole height of a caster by arranging a first bearing and a second bearing so as to be nearly concentric with each other, thereby positioning the intersection of the centers of rotation of both the bearings near a plane containing the centers of load of respective bearings. CONSTITUTION:A first outer race 37 is fixed on the inside face of the peripheral part of an outer housing 33 fixed to a supporting frame 1 on the car-body side, a first inner race 41 is arranged through a rolling body 39 inside the first outer race 37, and thus a first bearing is formed. On the other hand, a second outer race 49 is fixed inside a swiveling member 47 arranged in the outer housing 33, a second inner race 53 is arranged through a rolling body 51 inside the second outer race 49, and thus a second bearing 55 is formed. Further, the first bearing 43 and the second bearing 55 are arranged nearly concentric with each other, and the intersection O2 of the centers of rotation of these bearings is arranged near a plane containing the centers of load of the respective bearings.
