OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To allows and accurately reproduce the preformat information and its subsequent data written in a data area even right after the recording/erasing operations by reducing the gain of an information signal regeneration system having an AC coupling or interrupting the input to the AC coupling during the recording/erasing operations. CONSTITUTION:An analog switch 11 functions to reduce the gain of an information signal regeneration system having an AC coupling 6 or to interrupt the input to the coupling 6 during a recording/erasing operation. Thus it is possible to easily set the time constants of the AC couplings 6 - 8 at proper levels and also to effectively reduce the transient deflection of the read signal for the data written in a data area by the transient caused by the charging/discharging of a capacitor C1 of the coupling 6 without affecting to the medium characteristic. Thus it is possible to always and accurately reproduce the preformat information and its subsequent data written into the data area even right after the recording/erasing operation.
